Certified Commitment to the Environment 

Through our parent company Travel Connect, we are a member of Travelife, an internationally recognised training, management, and certification programme for sustainability in tourism. Travelife is recognised by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council.  

We are very proud to have received their top recognition, Travelife Certified. This makes us, along with Travel Connect and some of our sister brands, the first in Iceland to have achieved this certification. 

This accolade confirms that when you book with us you are working with a company that takes environmental matters and the protection of nature seriously. 

Our Environmental Responsibility  

The growth of tourism worldwide, but also specifically in Iceland, has had an inevitable impact on the fragile environments guests see and experience. 

The goal of our environmental policy is to minimize our footprint and, where possible, positively impact our local communities and environments.  

This is because we understand the impacts that our operations may have. For that reason, we are proactive in seeking to ensure our operations are as locally sustainable as possible. We are fully committed to following Iceland’s environmental laws. 

To meet our environmental sustainability goals, we have implemented an environmental management system as follows: 

• Making a carbon-offsetting contribution for each passenger on our tours in collaboration with Kolviður – the Icelandic Carbon Fund. 
• Reducing waste in our operations. 
• Subsidizing public transport and healthy lifestyles for our employees. 
• Limiting our environmental impact and implementing responsible tourism practices in our operations. 
• Choosing environmentally friendly tour suppliers and services. 
• Raising awareness regarding environmental issues among our guests, staff and guides. 
• Aiming to adhere to these principles and continuously improve our environmental management system. 

Our Social Responsibility 

As well as our environmental impact, we also take our social responsibility very seriously. This is true within Nine Worlds but also as part of our local communities.
